We are a microwave society; we celebrate victories before the hard work has begun, from "Mission Accomplished" to the Nobel Peace Prize to multi-million dollar signing bonuses for NFL draftees who have yet to take a single snap in an NFL training camp or game.
We pat ourselves on the back for our successes and fail to learn from our mistakes or even our competitors' mistakes.As long as we keep our own scorecards, we will continue to birdie every single hole, but in reality, our only "real victories" come from the fact that our rivals know no better themselves. They cheat in their practice games, too.
